Field Operations Technician

About the role

As a member of GeologicAI’s field operations team you will operate rock‑scanning robots that capture high‑resolution geological data for mining clients. You will work both in the laboratory and on‑site, preparing core samples, running the scanners and processing the results with custom software. The role combines hands‑on equipment handling with data analysis and client interaction.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare core samples for scanning and load them onto the robot system.
• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot the rock‑scanning equipment in the field and lab.
• Process raw scan data using GeologicAI’s proprietary software and generate deliverable reports.
• Collaborate with client geologists to ensure data meets project requirements.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge of geological concepts and experience working in remote field environments.
• Ability to work long shifts, lift core boxes up to 60 lb and adhere to strict safety protocols.
• Strong communication skills in English and a customer‑service mindset.

Required skills

• Coding experience (any language).
• Proficiency with hand and power tools and basic mechanical knowledge.
• Experience with Ethernet/network switches and hardware connectivity troubleshooting.
• Advanced file navigation, remote‑desktop and Windows/DOS command usage.
• Database handling, Microsoft Word and Excel.
