General Manager – Design & Architecture (Arabic Speaking)

About the role

The General Manager – Design & Architecture leads the design division, shaping strategy, overseeing project delivery, and driving business development. The role requires fluency in Arabic and strong leadership to ensure client satisfaction and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Design & Architecture department’s daily operations.
• Oversee architectural, interior, and planning design as well as project execution.
• Develop project strategies, timelines, budgets, and allocate resources.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and authorities for approvals and execution.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, safety standards, and company quality requirements.
• Supervise design development from concept through completion, reviewing drawings, specifications, BOQs, and technical submissions.
• Monitor project progress, costs, risks, and overall performance.
• Mentor, evaluate, and lead architects, designers, engineers, and support staff.
• Support business development, tendering, and client presentations.
• Establish operational policies and improve workflow efficiency.
• Prepare management reports and provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• 10–15 years of experience in architecture, design, or project management.
• Previous senior management or leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of architectural standards, construction practices, and project management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation abilities.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
• Strong financial and operational management skills.
