HSE Advisor – Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

About the role

WSP Middle East is seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to lead health, safety and environmental management for a Property & Building Supervision project in Jeddah. You will ensure compliance with WSP HSEQ standards, local regulations and client requirements while protecting personnel and the environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage project HSE arrangements against WSP HSEQ Management System requirements.
• Supervise HSE Inspectors to monitor site‑level health and safety implementation.
• Develop and deliver HSE training, including inductions and safe working practices.
• Review and approve contractors' HSE plans, risk assessments and method statements.
• Conduct daily site visits and weekly joint HSE inspections, ensuring corrective actions are closed.
• Organise HSE meetings with clients, WSP staff and contractors.
• Initiate, test and drill emergency response plans according to schedule.
• Oversee contractor incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in an HSE leadership role within construction or engineering.
• In‑depth knowledge of HSE regulations, especially in the Middle East.
• Strong communication skills in English; Arabic is an advantage.
• NEBOSH or equivalent certification highly desirable.
