Internal Auditor – Construction Projects

About the role

The Internal Auditor will provide independent, risk‑based assurance over Alfanar Group’s construction projects. Working closely with project teams, you will evaluate governance, financial controls, contract management, procurement and compliance to help deliver projects on time, within budget and in line with regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and perform internal audits of construction and capital projects in accordance with the approved audit plan and professional standards.
• Assess project governance, financial controls, execution processes and operational effectiveness.
• Review contract management practices, including change orders, claims, variations and payment processes.
• Audit tendering and procurement activities to ensure transparency, fairness and compliance with policies.
• Conduct risk assessments, identify operational, financial, contractual and compliance risks, and monitor mitigation measures.
• Prepare audit programs, gather evidence, document findings and produce clear audit reports with recommendations.
• Participate in the development of the annual risk‑based audit plan for construction projects.

Required profile

• At least two years of experience in internal audit, preferably within construction, engineering or related industries.
• Strong understanding of audit methodologies, risk‑based auditing and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent analytical and report‑writing skills with the ability to communicate findings to senior management.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, engineering or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
