Junior Accountant

About the role

The Junior Accountant will support the Finance Department by maintaining accurate financial records, processing daily transactions, and assisting with month‑end and year‑end closing activities. Working under the supervision of the General Accountant, this role ensures compliance with company policies and IFRS standards.

Key responsibilities

• Record day‑to‑day accounting transactions and maintain invoices, receipts, and payment vouchers.
• Assist with accounts payable and receivable, including supplier invoice processing, customer invoicing, and collection monitoring.
• Prepare daily bank reconciliations, manage petty‑cash documentation, and support payment requests.
• Ensure proper filing of accounting records, aid internal and external audits, and help prepare VAT and regulatory reports.
• Perform ad‑hoc accounting or administrative tasks as assigned by the Accounting or Finance Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience, preferably in trading, distribution, or FMCG.
• Basic knowledge of IFRS, accounting principles, and VAT regulations.
• Strong attention to detail, good organizational and analytical abilities.
• Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (or a similar ERP system).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
