Material Management Specialist – Inventory & SAP

About the role

The Material Management Specialist will work closely with Operations & Maintenance teams to manage spare parts inventory and consumables, ensuring an optimal balance between plant costs and equipment availability. The role uses SAP to maintain the bill of materials and warehouse inventory, supporting safe and reliable plant operations.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain the Bill of Materials (BOM) in SAP based on supplier data.
• Determine appropriate spare‑parts levels for operational facilities.
• Set up and manage zone stores and general plant provisioning.
• Provide warehouse support during plant commissioning and scheduled outages.
• Maintain accurate inventory control and optimize stock levels.
• Manage inbound and outbound shipment of facility spares.
• Oversee stock replacement and inventory check programs.
• Arrange emergency transport with vendors.
• Deliver training on hard‑goods inventory management and SAP transactions.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years (60 months) experience in material or inventory management within an industrial environment.
• Proven experience using SAP for inventory and BOM management.
• Strong understanding of spare‑parts logistics, stock optimization, and warehouse operations.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and ability to lead safe work practices.
• Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to execute work safely and reliably.
