OBU Maintenance Engineer

About the role

Alstom Grid is looking for a full‑time OBU Maintenance Engineer to ensure the reliability and availability of On‑Board Units installed in EMD freight locomotives. You will work on‑site in Al‑Nariyah, collaborating with central teams and customer engineers to deliver preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance on OBU systems.
• Diagnose and resolve critical issues to minimise service disruptions.
• Supervise installation activities and coordinate subcontractors or internal colleagues.
• Provide technical advice to drivers and support during service incidents.
• Maintain and calibrate test tools, optimise repair flows and support test runs.
• Mentor and train customer engineers on OBU maintenance procedures.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Engineering degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in signalling equipment testing, commissioning, installation, repair or maintenance.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and customers.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and proactive attitude.
