Part-time NDI Instructor – Level 3 (Advanced Training)

About the role

The NDI Instructor Level 3 is the senior technical authority for Non‑Destructive Inspection within the training academy. This part‑time position designs and delivers advanced NDI curricula for aerospace and defence technicians, ensuring the highest standards of structural integrity verification.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver advanced NDI training programs for non‑qualified, Level 1 and Level 2 technicians.
• Establish, review and formally approve comprehensive NDI written procedures for complex aerospace and military applications.
• Act as primary mentor, technical authority and certifying official for lower‑level NDI personnel.
• Provide expert consultation on material flaw characterization, inspection methodology selection and quality assurance for defence manufacturing and maintenance.
• Develop and maintain the academy’s NDI qualification and certification framework.
• Liaise with defence industry partners, regulatory bodies and GACA to keep training programs current and compliant.

Required profile

• Diploma in Engineering (required); Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Extensive senior‑level experience in military or aerospace environments managing comprehensive NDI programs.
• Proven track record developing NDI procedures and training curricula for aerospace applications.
• Valid Level 3 NDI qualification covering multiple methods.
• Fluency in English.

Required skills

• Visual Testing (VT), Penetrant Testing (PT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Eddy‑Current Testing (ET) and Ultrasonic Testing (UT).
• Advanced NDI procedure development.
• Training program design and delivery.
• Mentoring and certification of NDI technicians.
• Knowledge of aerospace and defence inspection standards.
