Principal Piping Layout Engineer (SME) – Inplant

About the role

We are looking for an Inplant Principal Piping Layout Engineering Design Subject Matter Expert to act as the Technical Authority for our energy, oil & gas, mining, industrial and infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia. The role provides technical leadership from proposal through commissioning, ensuring engineering excellence and safe, innovative solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead 3D plant layout and piping arrangement for complex industrial facilities.
• Act as Technical Authority across multiple projects, guiding concept, FEED and detailed design phases.
• Conduct independent design assurance and peer reviews.
• Resolve complex engineering challenges and provide specialist guidance.
• Support proposals, client workshops and business development activities.
• Mentor engineering teams and develop technical capability.
• Develop and maintain engineering standards and best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Chartered Engineer/Professional Engineer status preferred).
• Minimum 20 years of experience in oil & gas, energy, petrochemical, mining or industrial projects.
• Proven experience as a Technical Authority, Chief Engineer, Principal Consultant or Engineering Fellow.

Required skills

• Plant layout, Smart3D, E3D, clash detection and constructability analysis.
• Strong knowledge of ASME and client engineering standards.
