Procurement Expeditor

About the role

The Procurement Expeditor ensures that purchased goods and services are delivered on time and in line with specifications. By monitoring purchase orders, tracking supplier commitments, and coordinating delivery activities, the role provides visibility into procurement status and helps maintain a continuous supply flow.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor purchase orders from placement through delivery, confirming dates, quantities, specifications, and documentation.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to obtain delivery updates, identify schedule risks, and maintain accurate order status visibility.
• Expedite overdue or at‑risk orders by following up with suppliers, diagnosing root causes, and driving corrective actions.
• Review procurement documentation for completeness, flag discrepancies, and address potential delivery constraints.
• Maintain accurate records of order status, supplier commitments, and delivery milestones in the approved procurement system.
• Escalate significant delays, supply risks, quality concerns, or commercial issues through appropriate channels.
• Support shipment, inspection, receipt, and delivery coordination with relevant stakeholders.
• Contribute to supplier performance monitoring and prepare regular expediting reports highlighting progress, risks, and required actions.
• Ensure all activities comply with procurement policies, contractual terms, and applicable standards.
• Identify and propose improvements to expediting processes, tracking, communication, and reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, procurement, business administration, engineering, or a related field.
• Professional procurement or supply chain certification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is preferred.
• 2–4 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, expediting, logistics, or a similar environment.
• Demonstrated experience with purchase order expediting, supplier follow‑up, and delivery coordination.
