Procurement Specialist

About the role

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing activities within the Purchasing Unit, including strategic sourcing, market research, supplier identification and evaluation, supplier pre‑qualification, and supplier relationship management. The role owns assigned sourcing and supplier management activities from initiation through completion, ensuring compliance with the Procurement and Contracts Policy and related procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct strategic sourcing, market research and category scans to identify potential suppliers and sourcing options that meet business requirements.
• Prepare and issue Requests for Information (RFI), analyse responses and document findings to support procurement decisions.
• Lead end‑to‑end supplier pre‑qualification: define scope, issue invitations, screen submissions, verify certificates and licences, and compile results for approval.
• Maintain supplier records, engagement history and performance evaluations in the procurement system, applying scoring instruments and documenting improvement plans.
• Coordinate with requesting departments, Finance and HSSE to gather technical, financial and safety inputs for supplier evaluation.
• Ensure all activities comply with internal procurement policies and prepare periodic reports for the Procurement Director.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• 3–6 years of experience in sourcing, procurement or supplier management.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Oracle ERP (or equivalent procurement system).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
