Purchasing Engineer - Civil

About the role

The Purchasing Engineer – Civil will manage all purchasing activities for material, services, and assets required by civil engineering projects. You will coordinate requests, negotiate with suppliers, and ensure timely issuance of purchase orders while complying with company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, coordinate and execute purchasing activities upon receipt of purchase requests.
• Send Requests for Quotation (RFQ) to suppliers based on specifications and negotiate quotations.
• Draft purchase orders (PO) and obtain approvals from project managers or business unit managers.
• Create comparison sheets, issue PO, and track daily status reports.
• Review market trends, pricing, and delivery conditions to assess material availability.
• Develop and maintain a consolidated supplier database, including bank detail verification in SAP.
• Assist purchase officers with order acknowledgements and advance payment invoices.
• Cross‑check invoices, support commercial team with L/C preparation, and provide foreign‑currency statements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of procurement experience in a technical or civil‑engineering environment.
• Strong knowledge of international procurement practices and Incoterms.
• Experience drafting and managing service contracts, with awareness of tax and legal implications.
