Putaway Team Leader

About the role

We are seeking a Putaway Team Leader to manage the putaway crew in our fast‑growing grocery distribution centre. You will supervise forklift and reach‑truck operators, ensuring that incoming goods are moved safely, accurately, and on time from the receiving dock to their designated storage locations.

Key responsibilities

• Verify that all MHE operators hold valid licences and enforce PPE and warehouse safety standards.
• Conduct daily equipment checks, remove unsafe equipment, and maintain clear aisles.
• Oversee accurate data entry of received items, quantities, batches, expiries and storage locations in the WMS.
• Assign daily putaway tasks, balance workload, and meet target putaway times.
• Apply storage rules based on product type, temperature zone, FEFO, weight and movement.
• Handle damaged goods and discrepancies according to approved procedures.
• Coordinate closely with Receiving and Inventory teams throughout the shift.
• Train new operators and coach the team on safety and productivity.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years of warehouse experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Valid forklift and reach‑truck licences with hands‑on operating experience.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse safety standards and MHE operations.
• Experience using a Warehouse Management System for putaway, location and stock movements.
• Excellent attention to detail for identifying item, quantity, batch or expiry discrepancies.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and peak‑season periods.
• Basic English and Arabic communication skills.
