QC Inspector – Dimensional

About the role

The Dimensional QC Inspector is responsible for ensuring that castings and forgings meet customer specifications and drawings throughout the production process. The role involves performing dimensional and visual inspections, maintaining equipment calibration, and coordinating corrective actions when deviations are found.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out dimensional inspection of castings and forgings according to drawings, ISO 8062, or customer requirements.
• Perform visual inspection of sample and bulk castings/forgings.
• Maintain and calibrate measurement and test equipment.
• Coordinate non‑conformance handling and corrective actions with relevant departments.
• Document dimension reports, audit findings, and maintain inspection records.
• Assist QC Engineer in developing dimensional inspection standards.

Required profile

• ITI/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field (preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in dimensional inspection within the steel casting/forging industry.
• ASNT Level II NDE certification in Visual Inspection (essential); MT/PT certification preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CMM inspection and programming.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, ISO, ASME and ASTM standards.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience with moulding and core assembly processes.
• Competence in operating and calibrating dimensional measurement equipment.
