Quality Control – Dimension Control Engineer

About the role

The Dimension Control Quality Control Engineer ensures that all dimensional inspections on ship blocks, modules and assemblies are performed safely, accurately and in line with technical specifications. This role supports continuous improvement of dimension control processes on marine engineering projects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform dimensional inspections to verify alignment, flatness, plumbness and levelness of structural components during fabrication and erection.
• Conduct as‑built dimensional surveys using total stations, laser trackers, theodolites and other precision measuring instruments.
• Maintain proper calibration, handling and usage of all dimensional control and survey equipment.
• Inspect outfitting components such as foundations, supports and penetrations for dimensional accuracy before installation.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports documenting deviations, non‑conformities and corrective actions.
• Communicate discrepancies to production, engineering and QC teams and coordinate resolutions.
• Verify that fabrication and installation follow approved ITPs, QCPs and dimensional control procedures while adhering to shipyard safety standards.

Required profile

• University diploma or graduation.
• Professional certifications in Survey and Geoinformatics and in 3D CAD Drawing and Modelling.
• 8–10 years of experience in quality work within marine engineering (ship and rig construction).
• Fluency in English and Arabic.
