Quantities Engineer

About the role

The Quantities Engineer will play a pivotal role in managing project costs for construction initiatives. You will work closely with design, site, and procurement teams to ensure accurate quantity take‑offs, cost estimates, and budget alignment throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quantity take‑offs, Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and cost estimates.
• Monitor project expenditures and compare them against the approved budget.
• Evaluate variations, claims and change orders, and support their documentation.
• Review contractor invoices, interim valuations and coordinate payment certifications.
• Collaborate with design and site teams to maintain cost alignment.
• Assist procurement activities, including tender preparation and bid evaluation.
• Maintain regular cost reports and provide updates to senior management.
• Support contract administration and ensure compliance with contractual terms.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related field.
• 5‑8 years of experience in cost control or quantity surveying on construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of BOQs, contracts and cost management practices.
• Proven experience handling variations, claims and payment certifications.
• Excellent analytical, reporting, communication and coordination abilities.
• Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with cost management tools and related software.
