Resident Anesthesia

About the role

The Resident Anesthesia provides anesthetic services to patients at NMC Hospitals and Clinics, ensuring high‑quality medical care in line with professional ethics, JCIA/CBAHI standards, and Saudi Ministry of Health regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform pre‑operative assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and interpretation of diagnostic tests.
• Conduct daily pre‑anesthesia ward rounds for all in‑patients and liaise with consultants regarding patient care.
• Document patient management plans, maintain accurate medical records, and update progress notes.
• Participate in the on‑call rota, respond to emergencies, and serve on the Code Blue team.
• Assist senior consultants with diagnostic or therapeutic procedures and supervise junior staff as assigned.
• Engage in departmental education and training activities and adhere to hospital policies and regulations.
• Educate patients and families about care plans, health promotion, and post‑operative instructions, documenting all education activities.

Required profile

• Ability to work under the supervision and instruction of an assigned consultant.
• Willingness to participate in on‑call duties and emergency response teams.
• Commitment to patient‑centered care, education, and documentation standards.
