Roads Design Engineer

About the role

Parsons is seeking a highly experienced Roads Design Engineer to join its Project Management Office (PMO) working on major highway and infrastructure projects in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality road, junction and interchange designs that meet client expectations and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review road and highway design drawings, reports and specifications prepared by third‑party designers at concept and detailed design stages.
• Develop and evaluate conceptual design options for roads, junctions and interchanges, including layout alternatives and high‑level geometric solutions.
• Conduct value‑engineering studies to optimise geometry, pavement solutions and safety features while complying with standards.
• Prepare engineering details, sketches and exhibits to illustrate design concepts and value‑engineering proposals.
• Review pavement design and road‑safety elements, ensuring technical soundness and alignment with best practice.
• Coordinate with bridges/structures, drainage, utilities, traffic and architectural teams to resolve design issues.
• Prepare and deliver presentations on complex road and interchange design matters to internal teams, clients and external stakeholders.
• Assist in assessing design risks, constructability and phasing considerations for major schemes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in road and highway design, preferably on major highways and interchanges.
• Strong knowledge of international and local design standards.
