Room Allocation Coordinator

About the role

The Room Allocation Coordinator supports the Front Office by planning and managing guest room allocations, ensuring preferences and operational requirements are met for a seamless guest experience at InterContinental The Red Sea Resort.

Key responsibilities

• Allocate rooms for arriving guests based on reservations, room categories, guest preferences and operational needs.
• Review and adjust allocations throughout the day according to room readiness, guest changes and inventory.
• Prioritize allocations for VIPs, repeat guests, special occasions and guests with specific requirements.
• Monitor room availability, status and inventory to optimise usage.
• Coordinate with Front Office, Housekeeping, Reservations, Guest Relations and Engineering on room readiness.
• Identify and resolve potential allocation challenges before guest arrival.
• Manage allocation changes due to early arrivals, late departures, moves, extensions, upgrades or out‑of‑order rooms.
• Maintain accurate allocation data in the Property Management System and communicate changes to relevant departments.
• Escalate shortages or conflicts to Front Office Management promptly.
• Uphold confidentiality of guest information and adhere to InterContinental service standards.

Required profile

• Ability to handle guest preferences and special requests accurately.
• Attention to detail when prioritising VIP and repeat guests.
• Strong confidentiality when managing guest profiles.

Required skills

• Proficiency with a Property Management System (PMS) for room allocation.
