Rotating Engineer – Mechanical (Level II)

About the role

The Rotating Engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting, process improvement and maintenance modifications on major rotating equipment in a petrochemical environment. The role requires independent design work, liaison with external entities and occasional leadership of small project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze data and interpret results to optimise equipment performance and plant availability.
• Troubleshoot chronic issues affecting rotating equipment such as extruders, high‑pressure reciprocating compressors, steam turbines, centrifugal compressors and gas turbines.
• Provide first‑line supervision and act as a technical reference for junior engineers and technicians.
• Lead cross‑functional root‑cause analysis (RCA) for major failures and drive reliability studies.
• Prepare routine and non‑routine reports, and challenge third‑party oil analysis results.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in oil & gas or petrochemical industries.
• Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) – level II required.
• Vibration analysis certification (CAT level‑II, CAT level‑III preferred).
• Machinery Lubrication Analyst (MLA) certification – level‑II required.

Required skills

• Condition monitoring technologies and maintenance philosophies for rotating equipment.
• Hands‑on expertise in troubleshooting and life‑assessment of extruders, compressors, turbines and related rotating machinery.
• Root‑cause analysis and reliability engineering techniques.
• Oil analysis interpretation and recommendation formulation.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
