Sales Optician

About the role

The Sales Optician is responsible for delivering a professional and engaging customer experience in an optical retail environment. You will identify client needs, recommend suitable frames, lenses, contact lenses and sunglasses, and drive sales through conversion, upselling and cross‑selling.

Key responsibilities

• Assess customer requirements and suggest appropriate optical products.
• Achieve individual sales targets while supporting overall store performance.
• Handle customer inquiries, basic complaints and build lasting relationships.
• Read and verify prescriptions accurately, support fitting, adjustments and product selection.
• Assist opticians with technical requirements and ensure zero‑error delivery.
• Process transactions through the POS system and manage insurance approvals and documentation.
• Maintain stock accuracy, report shortages or damages, and uphold product handling standards.
• Collaborate with the team to meet store goals and contribute to a positive work environment.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience in optical retail sales.
• Diploma or Bachelor degree in Optics or a related field.
• Excellent oral and written English and Arabic communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, quality‑control mindset and ability to work under pressure.
• Team player with accountability and a positive attitude.

Required skills

• Proficiency with POS systems.
• Understanding of insurance processes related to optical products.
• Ability to read and interpret prescriptions accurately.
• Basic inventory handling and stock control knowledge.
