Section Manager – General Insurance (Facility)

About the role

The Section Manager, General Insurance – Facility, ensures that the company's insurance programmes fully cover its operational risks and comply with policy terms, insurer recommendations, and risk‑assessment findings. This role safeguards against coverage gaps and claim denials by aligning insurance structures with actual exposure.

Key responsibilities

• Review and monitor the adequacy of insurance coverage against operational risks.
• Verify compliance with policy terms, conditions, warranties and operational obligations.
• Follow up on recommendations issued by insurers and risk‑assessment firms, classifying them by risk severity.
• Coordinate with relevant departments to assess feasibility of recommendations and propose equivalent protective alternatives.
• Maintain and update the Service Level Agreement (SLA) with the Head Office.
• Prepare periodic and ad‑hoc reports on insurance gaps, risks and compliance status.
• Compile a structured register of policy conditions and issue alerts for any non‑compliance that could affect claim validity.
• Ensure delegation of authority matrices are up‑to‑date and sufficient per company policy.
