Senior Accountant – Retail

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to lead the finance function for a retail establishment in Makkah. The role involves overseeing full-cycle accounting, ensuring compliance with Saudi tax laws, and supporting operational efficiency across multiple store locations. The successful candidate will act as the primary liaison with auditors and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare daily journal entries, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports.
• Handle full reporting and filing for VAT, Zakat, and Income Tax.
• Manage annual closing procedures and coordinate with external audit firms.
• Oversee inventory control, conduct physical counts, and manage retail sales accounting.
• Administer customer accounts, vendor relationships, and perform balance reconciliations.
• Process employee end‑of‑service benefits and formal clearances.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related finance field.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the retail sector.
• Active registration with the Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants (SOCPA).
• Fluency in Arabic and English (written and spoken).
• Valid, transferable Iqama based in Saudi Arabia.

Required skills

• Proficiency with standard ERP accounting systems.
• Strong understanding of Saudi tax regulations (VAT, Zakat, Income Tax).
