Senior Conservation Architect

About the role

The Senior Conservation Architect will lead the preservation and restoration of heritage buildings in AlUla, overseeing projects from initial assessment through on‑site implementation. This full‑time, site‑based position requires a deep understanding of historic structures and the ability to balance cultural sensitivity with technical excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct architectural and historical research to inform conservation strategies.
• Assess building conditions, identify pathologies, and develop appropriate intervention proposals.
• Prepare technical and regulatory documentation in line with international conservation standards.
• Supervise on‑site works, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and liaise with authorities, clients, and local stakeholders.

Required profile

• University degree in Architecture, Architectural Conservation, Heritage Conservation or a related field.
• Significant senior‑level experience in conservation and restoration of historic buildings, preferably large‑scale projects.
• Strong project management skills, including budgeting, programme monitoring and team coordination.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in Arabic and English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Experience using BIM/Revit for architectural modelling.
