Senior Design Engineer

About the role

The Senior Design Engineer will lead technical design activities for water, wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations and desalination projects. Working closely with the Project Manager and design consultants, the role ensures that all deliverables meet client requirements, program schedules and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager in planning, managing and delivering design work for regional water infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate and monitor design consultants, providing progress reports and highlighting performance against the plan.
• Organise and lead design reviews, interfacing with subject‑matter experts and review teams.
• Perform technical analysis of design plans and prepare findings for reports.
• Implement green initiatives and specify analytical methods to support decision‑making.
• Provide quality assessment reports to Project Management and the client.
• Assist Contracts and Construction teams during pre‑construction and post‑award phases.
• Ensure compliance with Hill International’s Quality, Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 15 years of post‑graduation experience, including at least 10 years in water and wastewater design.
• Proven ability to review and approve design documents for water and wastewater works.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
