Senior Procurement Engineer – Electrical

About the role

The Senior Procurement Engineer – Electrical is responsible for managing the full procurement lifecycle of electrical materials, equipment and services for large‑scale projects. You will develop sourcing strategies, evaluate technical and commercial offers, negotiate contracts and ensure timely delivery while adhering to quality, safety and company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end procurement for electrical items, from requisition review to purchase order issuance.
• Analyse purchase requisitions, technical specifications, BOQs, drawings and project requirements.
• Identify, evaluate and pre‑qualify local and international electrical suppliers and subcontractors.
• Prepare and issue RFQs, conduct commercial and technical evaluations, and coordinate with engineering for technical compliance.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties and other commercial conditions.
• Monitor supplier performance, order status and lead times using ERP Oracle to ensure project timelines are met.
• Maintain procurement trackers, supplier databases, cost comparisons and reporting.
• Support cost‑saving initiatives, value engineering and commercial optimisation.
• Mentor junior procurement engineers and assist with contract and supplier performance management.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical procurement within construction or industrial projects.
• Proven ability to review technical specifications, BOQs and drawings.
• Strong coordination skills with engineering, projects, operations and finance teams.
• Experience negotiating contracts and managing long‑lead items.
• Familiarity with ERP Oracle for procurement processes.
• Knowledge of HSE, quality standards and ethical procurement practices.
