Shop Head

About the role

The Shop Head will lead KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions’ welding & fabrication shop, scaffolding & insulation workshop, and heavy‑lift & rigging division. Reporting to senior management, the role ensures all shop activities, equipment repairs and maintenance programmes are executed safely, efficiently and on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day operations of the welding, fabrication, scaffolding, insulation, heavy‑lift and rigging units.
• Plan, coordinate and oversee both planned and unplanned equipment repairs, allocating resources and machinery as needed.
• Develop, optimise and track preventive‑maintenance schedules to minimise breakdowns and maximise equipment availability.
• Collaborate with internal departments, external workshops and OEM dealers for parts, repairs and technical support.
• Ensure all workshop facilities comply with HSE standards; conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions.
• Schedule and monitor safety and technical training for shop personnel.
• Prepare and analyse daily, weekly and monthly maintenance performance reports, KPIs and timesheets.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and report any incidents or violations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in refinery plant maintenance, including leadership of large maintenance teams.
• Proven ability to resolve complex technical problems and lead in a multicultural environment.
• Strong organisational, communication and judgement skills under pressure.
• Willingness to perform all other duties assigned by management.
