Site Reliability Engineer (L2) – Cloud & Infrastructure

About the role

NextEra is seeking a dynamic Site Reliability Engineer (L2) to ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of critical applications and platform services hosted on multiple cloud and on‑premise environments. The role focuses on incident management, monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of service stability.

Key responsibilities

• Provide L2 support for incidents, service requests, alerts, and operational issues across GCP, OCI, Kubernetes, network services, Kafka, Redis, S3‑compatible storage, event bus, databases, and open‑source observability platforms.
• Own incident triage, technical investigation, service restoration, escalation coordination, and closure documentation within agreed service levels.
• Perform deep‑dive troubleshooting using metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, Kubernetes health data, cloud telemetry, database alerts, Kafka lag, Redis metrics, storage events, and network diagnostics.
• Monitor service health (availability, latency, error rates, capacity trends) with Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, and Tempo.
• Support major incident management, providing technical analysis, impact assessment, work‑around recommendations, and post‑incident reviews.
• Coordinate with L1 teams for alert validation and ticket enrichment, and escalate complex issues to L3 or platform engineering teams.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience in L2 technical support for cloud and containerized environments.
• Proven ability to investigate and resolve incidents quickly while maintaining clear documentation.
• Strong collaboration skills to work with L1, L3, application, cloud, database, and network teams.
