Superintendent, HSSEQ

About the role

The Superintendent, HSSEQ provides proactive health, safety, security, environment and quality leadership for a defined segment of Pacc Offshore's marine fleet. Acting as the bridge between the Head of HSSEQ and vessel‑level HSSEQ managers, the role ensures consistent implementation of the Integrated Management System and drives performance improvement across all assigned vessels.

Key responsibilities

• Own segment HSSEQ KPIs (TRIR, LTIF, near‑miss reporting, audit closure, environmental incidents).
• Maintain a live risk register and plan a rolling program of vessel visits, safety inspections, ISM audits and ISPS assessments (minimum one visit per vessel every six months).
• Provide direct technical support and coaching to offshore HSSEQ personnel and vessel masters on incident investigations, PTW audits, safety culture, and client HSSE interfaces.
• Verify competency of offshore HSSEQ personnel against segment‑specific requirements (e.g., DP familiarisation, heavy‑lift safety).
• Lead or escalate high‑potential incidents, LTIs and major environmental breaches, ensuring use of TapRooT/5‑Why methodologies and tracking corrective‑action closure.
• Serve as primary HSSEQ contact for client HSSE teams and third‑party auditors.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in marine HSSEQ management.
• Proven track record of managing safety, security and environmental compliance on offshore vessels.
• Strong analytical and risk‑profiling capabilities.
• Ability to coach and influence offshore teams and senior vessel officers.
