Support Engineer – Application Support for Capital Markets

About the role

DirectFN, a leading financial‑technology provider for capital markets, is looking for a hands‑on Support Engineer. The role ensures the stability and performance of trading, brokerage and market‑data applications for both clients and internal users.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve application incidents across client and internal environments within SLA, logging all actions in Jira.
• Provide post‑deployment support, monitor application health, and conduct hyper‑care activities after go‑live.
• Investigate errors, performance issues and configuration problems, applying fixes, work‑arounds and verified changes.
• Analyze logs, queries and system behaviour to identify root causes and implement permanent solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering, DevOps and deployment teams, escalating complex cases with clear documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in application support, technical support or IT operations.
• Fluent English communication skills, both spoken and written.

Required skills

• Linux and/or Windows Server environments.
• Log analysis and basic SQL querying.
• Scripting with Bash, PowerShell or Python.
• Jira for incident and ticket management.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Grafana, PRTG or Datadog.
• Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, OCI) and Docker containerisation.
• Understanding of application server configuration and database support procedures.
• Incident and change management processes (ITIL foundation is a plus).
