Sustainability Manager

About the role

The Sustainability Manager will lead the development and execution of SANS' sustainability strategy, aligning environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives with corporate goals. You will work across functions to embed sustainable practices, monitor performance and report progress to senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a comprehensive sustainability roadmap, set KPIs and track their achievement.
• Conduct regular ESG impact assessments and identify improvement opportunities.
• Plan, resource and oversee specific sustainability projects, ensuring they meet timelines and budget constraints.
• Engage internal teams (operations, finance, HR, marketing) and external partners (customers, regulators, industry groups) to promote the company’s sustainability vision.
• Prepare and deliver sustainability reports, presentations and updates for senior management and investors.
• Drive employee engagement programs that foster a culture of sustainability.
• Identify emerging technologies and best practices, lead pilot initiatives and collaborate with R&D on sustainable materials.

Required profile

• Proven experience in sustainability, ESG or related fields, preferably within a corporate setting.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess environmental and social impacts.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Ability to develop strategic plans and translate them into actionable projects.

Required skills

• Experience with ESG reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, CDP).
• Project management competence, including budgeting and resource allocation.
• Familiarity with sustainability metrics and KPI tracking tools.
