Technical Support Engineer (Web Applications & Power BI)

About the role

The Technical Support Engineer will act as the escalation point for Level 1 support of web‑based software platforms. The role combines troubleshooting of application issues with the design, development and maintenance of Power BI dashboards that turn raw data into actionable insights.

Key responsibilities

• Debug, diagnose and resolve issues in web applications, reproducing bugs in test or staging environments.
• Perform detailed log analysis, SQL/database checks and API validation.
• Support existing IT systems, infrastructure and databases.
• Collaborate with senior developers, product managers and testers to deliver new features.
• Design, build and optimise interactive Power BI dashboards, reports and data models.
• Handle data modelling, cleaning and transformation (ETL) using DAX and Power Query.
• Connect to data sources such as SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Excel and Azure, ensuring data accuracy and security.
• Maintain Power BI workspaces, manage data security and provide user‑friendly reporting solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in technical support engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and effective communication skills.
• Team‑oriented mindset with the ability to work closely with development and QA teams.

Required skills

• Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX and Power Query (expert level).
• SQL proficiency – MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL.
• Microsoft Excel – Pivot tables and data modelling.
• Data modelling, ETL processes and data transformation.
• Basic API testing and log analysis.
