Area Manager – Sports Retail

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Area Manager to lead the operational and commercial performance of multiple GMG stores within a defined territory. You will be responsible for driving sales, ensuring brand compliance, and delivering an excellent customer experience across all locations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of several stores, ensuring operational excellence and brand standards.
• Drive performance through KPIs such as Sales, Conversion, ATV, UPT, Shrinkage, and Customer Experience.
• Lead commercial execution of seasonal campaigns, promotions, and product launches.
• Collaborate with Merchandising and Allocation teams to optimise stock flow and product availability.
• Coach, develop, and manage Store Managers and their teams, handling performance management and succession planning.
• Conduct regular store visits, identify improvement opportunities, and implement action plans.
• Work closely with Operations, Visual Merchandising, Marketing, Finance, HR, and Loss Prevention teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail Management, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of retail operations experience, including at least 3 years in a multi‑store, Area or Cluster Manager role.
• Experience with international retail brands, preferably in sportswear, fashion, or lifestyle.
• Strong understanding of retail operations, merchandising, customer experience, KPIs, and P&L drivers.
• Proven leadership, people‑management, analytical, and decision‑making abilities.
