Audit Lead – Financial Audits & Controls

About the role

The Audit Lead will support the manager in shaping and executing the audit function, ensuring compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves overseeing financial audit engagements, evaluating controls, and delivering actionable insights to strengthen governance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement audit policies, processes, and procedures in line with standards and regulations.
• Plan, lead, and execute financial audit engagements, reviewing statements, ledgers, entries, and supporting documents.
• Assess control effectiveness, identify gaps, and recommend improvements to mitigate financial and operational risks.
• Review core financial processes such as budgeting, forecasting, procurement, payments, and revenue recognition for proper controls and transparency.
• Prepare concise audit reports with findings, risk implications, and recommendations; monitor corrective action implementation.
• Conduct financial analysis and variance reviews to spot anomalies, trends, or risks and escalate as needed.
• Support the creation of the annual audit plan based on risk assessments, ensuring coverage of high‑risk areas.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders, finance teams, and external auditors to ensure alignment and timely resolution of audit matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as CPA, SOCPA, ACCA, or CIA are strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of auditing experience, preferably with an audit firm.
