Business Developer - Large Industries

About the role

Air Liquide's Large Industries Business Development team drives the growth of its Large Industries business line by orchestrating the solution sales process of multi-million investment projects. The role sits at the intersection of strategy, commercial, finance and project management, combining customer relations, financial modelling, commercial offers and contract management.

Key responsibilities

• Build, maintain and grow trusted relationships with large corporations in oil refining, chemical, petrochemical or steel industries, and analyse their needs, processes, projects and pain points.
• Explore customer organisations, decision-making criteria and leaders, assess competitors and identify business growth opportunities aligned with company strategy.
• Develop winning strategies and solutions, write commercial presentations, offers and bids, and negotiate project framework agreements such as gas supply and utilities agreements with legal teams.
• Mobilise cross-functional project teams (engineering, legal, finance) and define cost, scope and schedule of each opportunity.
• Ensure timely investment and decision-making processes and write internal project deliverables such as investment committee notes.
• Calculate and control the project financial model for pricing and investment decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or finance field; an MBA is a plus.
• 5 to 10 years of business development experience involving investment decisions.
• Knowledge of refining, chemical or petrochemical processes or energy transition considerations is a plus.
• Willingness to travel within the Middle East.
