Cable Design Engineer

About the role

The Cable Design Engineer is responsible for end‑to‑end design, specification and engineering of cable systems and assemblies, ensuring compliance with industry standards. The role involves complex calculations, material selection and collaboration with clients to meet project requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform critical design calculations such as cable sizing, ampacity, voltage drop and pulling tension.
• Select appropriate insulation, shielding and jacketing materials based on environmental, mechanical and electrical criteria.
• Lead product design activities, release trials for new family products, review inspection and type‑test specifications and set acceptance criteria.
• Conduct continuous R&D to incorporate latest technical standards and improve processes.
• Engage with clients, attend technical meetings, seminars and exhibitions as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in cable design or similar engineering role.
• Training or certifications in power cable, ampacity calculation or project management (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
• Proficiency in English; French is an added value.
