About the role

The Executive Director leads Extendicare’s long‑term care home in Edmonton, ensuring residents receive safe, high‑quality care. This senior leader drives strategic planning, operational excellence, and a culture of compassion while meeting regulatory and financial targets.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all daily operations, budgets, and funding streams to ensure fiscal accountability.
• Lead and develop a high‑performing management team that models Extendicare’s values.
• Ensure compliance with provincial and federal legislation, collective agreements, and internal policies.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the region to support resident health and staff well‑being.
• Champion resident safety, quality improvement initiatives, and resident/family engagement surveys.
• Provide hands‑on support to managers, front‑line staff, residents, and families.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in long‑term care or a comparable health‑care setting.
• Strong financial stewardship and budget management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build engaged, high‑performing teams.
• Deep knowledge of provincial regulations and resident rights.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
