General Ledger & Control Specialist

About the role

The General Ledger & Control Specialist is responsible for managing all GL activities across the committee, sports federations and affiliated entities within the Shared Services and Solutions (SS&S) framework. The role ensures accurate journal entries, reconciliations and compliance with accounting standards, supporting the preparation of reliable financial statements.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update the organization’s general ledger, posting accruals, adjustments and corrections in line with established procedures.
• Perform timely reconciliations of key balance‑sheet accounts such as cash, inventory, fixed assets and inter‑company balances.
• Prepare and deliver financial reporting information to auditors, SOPC personnel and authorized third parties.
• Coordinate with external auditors to ensure audit timelines are met.
• Document all transactions and retain records according to SOPC’s retention policy.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 month of relevant experience in general ledger or accounting functions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under strict deadlines.
• Understanding of accounting standards and regulatory compliance.
