Head of Legal & Compliance

About the role

Lucidya is seeking a senior legal professional to build and lead a high‑impact Legal & Compliance function. The role will be pivotal in supporting rapid regional growth, ensuring the company meets regulatory, audit, and data‑privacy expectations while staying commercially agile.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute Lucidya’s legal and compliance strategy, establishing governance and risk‑management frameworks.
• Streamline commercial contracting across customers, vendors, partners, and public‑sector agreements with templates, playbooks, and efficient processes.
• Lead the Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) program, maintaining ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II, NIST, GDPR and other certifications audit‑ready.
• Act as Data Protection Officer, ensuring compliance with Saudi PDPL, GDPR and embedding privacy‑by‑design.
• Oversee corporate legal matters, including board governance, M&A, due diligence, and capital‑markets readiness.
• Support regional expansion by establishing new entities, managing local regulatory obligations, and coordinating external counsel across jurisdictions.
• Recruit, develop, and manage a lean internal team while leveraging external expertise as needed.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in legal, compliance, or risk management, preferably within technology or AI‑driven companies.
• Hands‑on leadership style with the ability to partner closely with CEOs, CFOs, and other executives.
• Strong track record of building legal functions from the ground up and scaling them in fast‑growing environments.
• Excellent understanding of international data‑privacy laws, especially Saudi PDPL and GDPR.
• Experience managing cross‑border regulatory requirements and corporate transactions.
