Hostess – Guest Greeting & Seating Specialist

About the role

The Hostess is the first point of contact for guests, providing a warm welcome, managing reservations, and ensuring smooth seating throughout the restaurant. Working closely with the front‑of‑house team, the Hostess maintains the appearance of the dining area and supports guests from arrival to departure.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and escort guests to their tables, presenting menus and offering courteous assistance.
• Manage reservations, cancellations, and guest preferences using the Seven Rooms Reservation System.
• Maintain a clean and organized host desk, monitor seating charts, and adjust table assignments as needed.
• Inspect menus, tables, and the restaurant environment for cleanliness and compliance with standards.
• Answer the restaurant telephone promptly and handle guest inquiries.
• Coordinate with servers and bus staff to ensure optimal table set‑ups and service flow.
• Assume team‑leader responsibilities in their absence, including reporting shortages and overseeing station preparations.

• Excellent memory for guest preferences and reservation details.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Seven Rooms Reservation System.
• Basic computer and telephone operation skills.
• Familiarity with iPad/Press Reader for menu and information display.
