HVAC Technician - Saudi National

About the role

Carrier, a global provider of HVAC, refrigeration, fire, security and cold chain solutions, is looking for a skilled, customer-focused Saudi National HVAC Technician in Riyadh. The technician inspects, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs and services HVAC equipment in line with industry practice, manufacturer guidelines, company standards and EHS requirements. The role calls for strong technical knowledge, a commitment to safety and quality, good communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of an integrated team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform HVAC service, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting and repair according to standard procedures, keeping timesheets, job cards and service records accurate.
• Inspect air-conditioning units, diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and recommend corrective actions.
• Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance and keep maintenance records.
• Repair, replace, adjust and maintain defective HVAC components, and adjust electrical and electronic control systems such as motors, belts, blowers and coils.
• Prepare inspection reports, Job Completion Certificates, Job Cards, EHS site surveys and other required documentation.
• Estimate labour hours, tools, equipment and materials needed for each job.
• Communicate with customers about progress and recommendations, and leave work areas clean and safe.
• Identify safety hazards, follow EHS policies and escalate technical, safety or operational issues to the supervisor or manager.
• Rig and set up gantries and lifting arrangements for heavy equipment such as chillers and pumps, and manage tool and equipment inventory.
• Use computers and mobile apps for work and reporting, attend EHS and technical training, and perform other duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• Saudi National.
• Diploma or equivalent in Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration, HVAC or a related field.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience in the HVAC industry.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, customer-oriented and team player.
• Basic computer and mobile application skills.
• Valid Saudi driving licence is an advantage.

Required skills

• HVAC equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and repair.
• EHS practices and MSDS/SDS knowledge.
• Basic metal sheet work, electrical systems, carpentry and Building Automation Controls.
• Knowledge of DX and airside equipment and scroll chillers.
