Indirect Tax Litigation Section Manager

About the role

The Indirect Tax Litigation Section Manager is responsible for overseeing complex indirect tax legal cases for ZATCA, ensuring the authority’s legal rights and reputation are protected. This role involves strategic planning, budget oversight, court representation, and leading a team of legal professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Implement ZATCA’s indirect tax litigation strategy and align it with overall organizational goals.
• Participate in the annual budgeting cycle, manage the section’s budget, and report on progress and challenges.
• Receive, assess, and investigate indirect tax legal cases, preparing claims, counter‑claims, warning letters, and legal responses.
• Provide legal advice, risk assessments, and training to increase awareness of indirect tax obligations across the organization.
• Represent ZATCA in courts, committees, and governmental bodies, and negotiate settlements with external parties.
• Coordinate with outsourced legal experts when necessary and manage dispute settlement formalities.
• Identify, recruit, mentor, and train direct reports, ensuring compliance with policies and processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies or equivalent (required); Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant legal experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial position.
• Strong research and analytical capabilities.
