IoT Engineer – Device-to-Cloud Connectivity

About the role

Perfect Vision is looking for an IoT Engineer to act as the bridge between field‑deployed telematics devices and the cloud platform that extracts value from their data. You will design, build, and maintain the connectivity layer, provisioning workflows, and data pipelines that keep thousands of devices operating securely and reliably at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design and operate device‑to‑cloud connectivity using MQTT and cloud IoT services such as AWS IoT Core or Azure IoT Hub.
• Create provisioning, identity, and lifecycle management processes for large device fleets.
• Develop ingestion pipelines and streaming solutions that feed telemetry into analytics platforms.
• Implement device security mechanisms, including mutual TLS and certificate management.
• Build edge and cloud logic for remote configuration, command‑and‑control, and OTA updates.
• Monitor connectivity health, set up observability and alerting, and reduce device downtime.
• Collaborate with embedded engineers on data contracts and with backend teams on APIs and storage.
• Optimize cellular data usage, cost, and SIM fleet management.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Software/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of hands‑on experience with an IoT cloud platform (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.).
• Strong understanding of IoT protocols (MQTT, HTTP, optional CoAP) and networking fundamentals.
• Proven experience building data pipelines, message queues, or streaming solutions.
