Mechanical Site Supervision Inspector

About the role

Egis, an international engineering, consulting and construction firm active in the Middle East, is looking for an experienced Mechanical Site Supervision Inspector in Riyadh. The inspector carries out project site inspections, identifies issues and works with multidisciplinary teams to verify the quality and quantity of work done by contractors, ensuring mechanical works comply with contracts, approved drawings, specifications, codes and standards and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out site inspections and supervision and report findings directly to the Mechanical Engineer.
• Inspect chilled water piping systems and oversee testing and commissioning of mechanical systems such as HVAC, plumbing and firefighting, and coordinate their integration with the project BMS.
• Review and interpret contract documents, shop drawings, technical specifications and applicable local and international codes and standards.
• Ensure compliance with project quality, health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Review QA/QC documentation including ITPs, method statements, WIRs, MIRs, NCRs and as-built records.
• Confirm that construction meets specifications through inspections, measurements, testing and commissioning, and coordinate with authorities and stakeholders.
• Document inspection activities, contractor resources, work locations, methods and progress, and track quality assurance activities while helping resolve technical and quality issues.
• Monitor material deliveries, inspect materials and verify proper storage and handling.
• Maintain inspection records and prepare detailed reports as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 8 years of experience in mechanical building services, including installation, inspection, testing and commissioning.
• Valid Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) registration.
• Experience on large-scale PMCM, infrastructure, transportation, building, mixed-use, industrial or utility projects; aviation projects highly desirable.
• Previous experience with engineering consultants, PMCM consultants or supervision consultants preferred.
• Strong eye for detail, quality control mindset, good written and verbal English; Arabic is a plus.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of ASHRAE, IPC, ASPE, SBC, ASME, ASTM, NFPA and other international standards.
• Proficiency in document control platforms (Aconex), CAD software (AutoCAD) and MS Office.
• Working knowledge of BIM and AutoCAD preferred.
• Quality Control or Quality Assurance certification is an added advantage.
