Mortuary Technician – Hospital Morgue

About the role

The Mortuary Technician ensures the dignified, safe, and hygienic operation of the hospital morgue. Working under the Admission & Discharge division, you will manage the cold storage facility, maintain strict infection‑control standards, and uphold the chain of custody for deceased patients.

Key responsibilities

• Receive bodies from clinical wards, verify dual‑identifier tags, and record chain of custody in the Morgue Register.
• Monitor and log temperature and humidity levels of cold chambers, reporting any deviations immediately.
• Coordinate terminal cleaning and disinfection of storage units, hydraulic lifts, and surfaces using hospital‑grade agents.
• Apply Ministry of Health (MOH) precautions for high‑risk infectious bodies, such as COVID‑19 or MERS.
• Assist forensic authorities with body identification and sample preservation for police cases.
• Release bodies to families or municipal services in a respectful manner.

Required profile

• Diploma or Associate Degree.
• Valid SCFHS registration.
• 0‑2 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
• Arabic (advanced) and English (intermediate) language proficiency.
