Quality Engineer – Event Fabrication

About the role

The Quality Engineer in the event fabrication workshop ensures that all fabricated elements – event structures, exhibition stands, scenic sets and custom props – meet defined quality, finish and structural standards before dispatch or on‑site installation. Reporting to the Quality Manager, the role conducts inspections at key production stages, identifies non‑conformances and drives corrective actions in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform in‑process and pre‑dispatch inspections across carpentry, metalwork, printing, foam work and painting, verifying compliance with technical drawings and client‑approved samples.
• Document non‑conformances, conduct root‑cause analysis and coordinate rework with the Production Manager.
• Maintain inspection records, QC checklists and defect reports; support the Quality Manager in updating standards and work instructions.
• Identify continuous‑improvement opportunities to reduce defect rates and enhance first‑pass quality.
• Ensure safety compliance during inspections and flag any hazards to the relevant manager.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of QA/QC experience in event fabrication, fit‑out, manufacturing or construction.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management or a related field (preferred); ISO 9001 awareness is a plus.
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and approved samples.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Use of inspection tools and measurement equipment.
• Experience with NCR reporting systems and quality management documentation.
