Safety Officer – Workplace Health & Safety

About the role

Amazon is seeking a proactive Safety Officer to lead Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) initiatives at its Riyadh fulfillment centre. Reporting to the WHS Manager, you will drive risk assessments, training, and compliance to keep our team members safe and productive.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct site risk assessments for existing and new activities.
• Develop and maintain a WHS training matrix.
• Implement site‑specific WHS standards, objectives and programs.
• Deliver daily WHS briefings and promote a safety‑first culture.
• Perform regular safety audits, identify non‑compliance, and work with Operations to remediate risks.
• Investigate incidents, manage Gensuite write‑ups, and support CAPA creation.
• Maintain PPE inventory and coordinate procurement.
• Audit record‑keeping and ensure alignment with global WHS standards.
• Oversee fire‑fighting, first‑aid training, and daily equipment inspections.
• Lead emergency response planning, drills, and heat‑index monitoring.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in workplace health & safety or EHS.
• Familiarity with Saudi Arabian WHS regulations and global standards.
• Ability to conduct investigations, audits and produce clear reports.
• Strong communication skills to train staff and liaise with managers.
