Staff Nurse – Dialysis

About the role

Fresenius Medical Care is hiring a Staff Nurse in Riyadh to deliver nursing care to patients in line with medical prescriptions, dialysis nursing standards and company standards, with the aim of improving patients' health status and quality of life. The Saudi Commission for Health Specialties certificate (SCFHS) must be valid.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients before, during and after dialysis and inform the physician of significant changes in health status, weight, heart rate, blood pressure, temperature and vascular access
• Ensure compliance with safety, hygiene and infection control regulations, including the NC Standards for Good Dialysis Care and Hygiene and Infection Control
• Perform patient connection and disconnection, anticoagulation of the extracorporeal circuit, medication administration and blood sampling
• Handle tunnel and non-tunnel central venous catheters, assist with haemostasis, and educate patients on nutrition, hygiene and fistula care
• Check, bring and supervise dialysis supplies and disposables, and collect medical and non-medical waste
• Start, disinfect and set up dialysis machines, prime circuits, connect bloodlines and needles, and announce machine irregularities to the Head Nurse or technician
• Document treatments and support other nurses, sharing information with the next shift, physicians and other clinical staff
• If applicable: prepare meals, beds and chairs, perform peritoneal dialysis education and assessments, and carry out peritoneal QA tests

Required profile

• Registered General Nurse diploma and applicable dialysis training programme
• Dialysis nursing experience and proper fundamental dialysis training before directly caring for patients
• Valid SCFHS certificate
• Professional, patient-oriented attitude, trustworthiness, cooperation, empathy and resilience under pressure

Required skills

• Nursing and hygiene standards and practice standards
• Comfortable with MS Office
• Knowledge of dialysis services and products
• English and local language
