QA/QC Civil Engineer – Construction Quality Assurance

About the role

We are seeking a QA/QC Civil Engineer to oversee civil construction activities, ensuring all works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards. The role involves conducting site inspections, managing quality documentation, and coordinating corrective actions with the project team and subcontractors.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and inspect civil works such as reinforcement, formwork, concrete, masonry, waterproofing, backfilling and finishing to verify compliance with drawings, method statements and ITPs.
• Prepare and raise Work Inspection Requests (WIR), Material Inspection Requests (MIR) and coordinate testing requirements with consultants.
• Review and verify implementation of approved Method Statements, checklists and Quality Control Plans.
• Supervise concrete pouring activities, including pre‑pour inspections, slump, temperature, sampling, curing and post‑pour checks.
• Control material submittals, verify compliance with technical specifications and maintain accurate quality records.
• Identify defects, issue Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Site Observation Reports (SORs), and follow up until satisfactory closure.
• Collaborate with site, technical, survey, laboratory and consultant teams to resolve quality‑related issues.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of civil construction methods and quality control procedures.
• Experience with reinforced concrete, formwork, concrete testing and repair techniques.
• Familiarity with waterproofing, masonry, plastering, tiling, screed, earthworks, backfilling and compaction.
• Ability to read and interpret IFC/shop drawings, specifications and material submittals.
• Understanding of ITPs, WIR/MIR, NCRs, SORs and inspection checklists.
• Knowledge of ACI and ASTM standards and ability to perform root‑cause analysis.
