Senior Maintenance Engineer – Reliability & Maintenance

About the role

The Senior Maintenance Engineer will lead the reliability and maintenance function for a large fulfilment centre, ensuring that all equipment and infrastructure operate at optimal performance. This role combines hands‑on technical expertise with team leadership, safety advocacy, and continuous improvement of preventive and predictive maintenance programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coach Facility Supervisors and maintenance technicians.
• Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance plans for material handling, automation and mechanical assets.
• Install, maintain and troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components, sensors, scanners, motor starters, relays, limit switches, servo drives, frequency inverters, linear drives, sorters and other mechanical components.
• Act as a safety ambassador, promoting safe work practices across the site.
• Manage day‑to‑day engineering, soft services, housekeeping and premises upkeep.
• Oversee EHS and statutory compliance, including waste and hazardous waste management.
• Coordinate and monitor subcontractors and ensure compliance with CMMS work orders.
• Provide technical guidance for material handling equipment (MHE) and battery‑backed systems.
• Motivate and support technicians through knowledge sharing and hands‑on assistance.

Required profile

• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Proven experience in reliability‑centered maintenance environments.
• Strong knowledge of industrial mechanical, electrical, automation, controls and robotics systems.
• Minimum 4 years of experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Leadership and coaching abilities with a focus on performance feedback.
